Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrival to Helsinki, transfer to city centre

Arrival at Helsinki airport in the afternoon. After immigration find the Finnair City Bus at stop nr 10 just outside arrival level at Terminal T2 or T1. The bus will take you to Elielinaukio Square at Helsinki Central Station in 35 minutes. A short 10 minute walk to your first class hotel located in downtown Helsinki. We will confirm your hotel after your booking.

Free time to explore Helsinki. There are many types of restaurants, Finnish, Western or Asian, where you can buy dinner as per your appetite.

DAY 2

Breakfast at the hotel, check-out

Full buffet breakfast at your hotel. We suggest you check-out and store your luggage at the front desk before the sightseeing tour.

Helsinki Panorama sightseeing city tour 11.00-12.45

An audio guided (several languages including English, Chinese and Japanese) Helsinki Panorama Sightseeing city tour starts from Fabianinkatu street tourist bus stop in the middle of the Esplanade Park in downtown Helsinki. Please arrive to the tourist bus stop 15 minutes before the tour departure. During the approximately 1,5 hour city tour you will drive past the main sights of Helsinki and hear interesting stories behind them. There will be a short stop at the famous Temppeliaukio Church, graved in rock, and the Sibelius Monument before the tour ends at the Esplanade Park. The comfortable double decker tour bus is air conditioned and heated in winter and has a free wifi. Please note, that the entrance fee to Temppeliaukio church is not included  (3 euros/ person, to be paid on the spot).

OPTIONAL: Shopping and lunch. After sightseeing you have time to explore the main shopping streets Esplanade, Aleksanterinkatu street and Mannerheimintie street as well as the Stockmann department store. The lively market place Kauppatori and the traditional Old Market Hall (closed on Sundays) are situated at the end of the Esplanade park by the sea. The market vendors sell also traditional dishes, recommendable for a lunch.

Pick up your luggage from the hotel and head to the South harbor. The easiest way to reach the harbor is by tram nr 2 (to the direction of Olympiaterminaali) from the city centre.

South Harbor, Check-in at Olympiaterminaali 16.00

Check-in at Silja Line desks in the Olympiaterminaali. You will receive all boarding passes and meal coupons for the whole cruise. Boarding closes 20 minutes before the departure – no access to the ship after this time.

Departure to Stockholm 17.00

The Silja Line ship (m/s Symphony or m/s Serenade) leaves from Helsinki. During the evening you will taste the traditional Scandinavian buffet. You can also do some tax free shopping on board and enjoy the ship’s evening entertainment.

Buffet dinner on board (please check your dinner seating time from your dinner coupon received from the harbor). The Silja Line ships have several tax free shops, cafeterias and bars at your disposal as well as different kinds of evening entertainment. More detailed information can be found from a program leaflet available from the ship’s information desk.

DAY 3

Buffet breakfast on board, arrival to Stockholm 09.30

The ship arrives to Stockholm, capital of Sweden. Please note all arrival and departure times are always indicated in local time, Finland is one hour ahead of Sweden. Your cabin will be in your use for the whole cruise, so you can leave your luggage there during the day. Please remember to take your boarding card/cabin key card with you when you leave the ship in Stockholm as you will need it when you return to the ship.

The city transfer bus goes from the ship terminal to the Stockholm city center and back. The bus is marked with a big Tallink Silja sticker. Bus tickets can be bought from the bus or the ship’s information desk, where you can get information also about public transportation.

Stockholm is built on fourteen islands, with eight centuries of history and culture to choose from. Gamla Stan, the Old Town of Stockholm, is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centers in Europe and it is where Stockholm was founded in 1252. All of Gamla Stan and the adjacent island of Riddarholmen are like a living pedestrian-friendly museum full of sights, attractions, restaurants, cafés, bars and places to shop. The narrow winding cobblestone streets, with their buildings in so many different shades of gold, give Gamla Stan its unique character.

Return to the harbor 16.00

Use your boarding card/cabin key card to board the ship.  Boarding closes 20 mimutes before boat´s departure – no access to the ship after this time.

Departure to Helsinki 16.45

The Silja Line ship (m/s Symphony or m/s Serenade) leaves from Stockholm. For dinner options, the Silja Line ships have several cafeterias and a la carte restaurants where you can use your dinner voucher as payment. Evening entertainment according to the cruise program.

DAY 4

Buffet breakfast on board, arrival to Helsinki 09.55/ 10.30

The ship arrives to Helsinki. Please note all arrival and departure times are always indicated in local time, Finland is one hour ahead of Sweden.

OPTIONAL: Take the tram nr 2 (to the direction of Nordenskiöldinkatu) to the Central Railway Station. If you still have free time before your flight, you can leave your luggage in store at the Helsinki Central Railway Station (for an extra charge).

Departure to the airport

Departure from Elielinaukio Square by Finnair City Bus according to your flight schedule. We suggest you to arrive to the airport latest 1,5 hours before your flight. Please check the bus schedule in advance here choose the optimal bus journey. The journey will take approximately 35 minutes. There is a good choice of shops and restaurants at the airport.

Please check the ship schedule on your final confirmation and tickets as the schedules may vary.
